Residential Women’s Recovery Home

All of this flows from a simple but deep conviction:

Jesus is still setting people free, and we are here to walk alongside them as He does…

Where We Are Now:

  • We are preparing to open our first residential women’s recovery home, Vonarljós (“Light of Hope”), on September 1, 2025. This home will provide a safe, Christ-centered environment for 5–7 women and is being developed in close collaboration with Teen Challenge teams in the UK and USA.

  • We recently had the opportunity to meet with the mayor of Hvolsvöllur to present our vision for the women’s recovery home and our wider ministry. He responded with kindness and expressed openness toward future cooperation. While no formal commitments have been made, we are grateful for the goodwill and interest shown by the municipality.

Looking Ahead:

With God’s leading, we hope to:

  • Open Way-In Houses – gender-specific aftercare homes focused on reintegration, life skills, and ongoing discipleship.

  • Launch a complete Men’s Residential Program where men can experience healing and transformation in a safe, faith-based setting.

  • Establish a Thrift Store, creating opportunities for work training, outreach, and sustainable income for the ministry.

Why This Matters:

In Iceland today, people are falling through the cracks – not just socially or economically, but spiritually. We offer a way forward that is holistic, biblical, and personal. This is not a program – it is a journey. A journey from bondage to freedom, from despair to hope. We are painfully aware that we cannot do this alone. Every open door, every changed life, is the result of God’s grace and the faithful support of people who believe in what He is doing.

We are deeply grateful for the covering and encouragement of the Global Teen Challenge and for every person who prays, encourages, or partners with this work. If this vision speaks to your heart, we would love to connect.
